When do I book?
Do I need a pre-consultation?
We not only have experience behind the camera and with amazing hair/makeup styling – we also have experience in the advertising and marketing world of branding a business. Your photographer's eye has been fine-tuned through years of branding work for other companies such as logo design, color curation, image archive creation and marketing material development. So, you are really getting the whole package with this experience as we will know to take photos that allow for space around the subject for marketing type placement or publishing on a website.
During a pre-consultation, we can help you plan your outfits, patterns, colors, etc and discuss everything from the prime location for your shoot to the types of poses and visual message you want to convey. This can be helpful. An in-person pre-consult is not part of our packages or our auto-booking. Book $250 consultation and, get a 2 hr custom vision board session to add depth to your branding strategy – it’s a smart investment for your brand's narrative.. Please connect with us directly, if you are interested.
What do I plan for ahead of time?
Having a great brand portrait session is a partnership between you and your photographer. To have the best photographs possible with the least amount of retouching required, please ensure you do the following prior to your shoot. In short, plan as though you are getting ready for your wedding day. Ready, Set, Glow! ::
Get a good night’s sleep the night before your shoot
Drink plenty of water and avoid salty and greasy foods the day before/day of your shoot
Shave legs and underarms if they will be showing in the photos
Pluck / wax your eyebrows and upper lip
Manicure / Pedicure / Press-on Nails
Freshen your hair color (if this is what you normally do)
Tan / Spray Tan if that's what you normally do / Watch tan lines in the summer
Wear something loose to the studio the day of your shoot so few lines are left on your skin (avoid tight socks or watches)
Pinterest Board Ideas
Moisturize your skin the day of the shoot, including your hands and décolleté area.
Following your shoot, expect to be a little sore as if you have had a rigorous workout. Many of the poses can feel somewhat like doing yoga, so we have been told. Modeling is hard work!
